Between Launch Trains, Qualio is hard at work developing new features based on what we hear from our customers. We invite our customers to participate in beta testing to provide feedback to our product team.
Admins can access the Beta Features Page to turn these features on in the sandbox or production ahead of the official release by navigating to Settings > Admin Settings > Beta Features.
Note for enabling in Production instances
Because these features/enhancements are still in beta, they are not yet reflected in the current validation documentation. Upon release of a feature, any additional or updated test cases will be reflected in the validation documentation released during the 30-day validation period.
Below is a list of our current, ongoing betas.
Design Controls UX Update
Design Controls UX Update
Traceability and flexibility
A new tab, ‘Traceability’ will provide instant visibility of the connections across elements both as an interactive view within Qualio and an export.
Icons provide gap analysis on the requirements, risks, tests and traceability tabs. You can also filter to see all items with missing or failing tests, missing parent or child links and unmitigated risks.
Approvers can now access system-generated files before approval, once they are sent for approval. Reviews will move through two stages - 'create' and 'sent for approval' - to allow for edits before sending to the approver.
The new attributes ‘Categories’ and ‘Components’ are included in the display and filters on these tabs. No need to toggle on both this update and the earlier features. Both are managed centrally in the Resource Library. Components identify your product components while categories are flexible attributes you can set at the different requirement and test levels to better manage your elements.
Products can now be configured to support a 4th level of requirement, e.g. 1. User Need, 2. Functional specification, 3. Design specification, 4. Config item.
You can also now delete elements brought across through self-service integrations directly from these tabs.
There is now only one dynamic status field, the status given at creation has been removed to avoid confusion.
The navigation has been simplified by removing the 'Open Issues' and 'Dashboard' tabs.

Filter on Workspace and Library by document type
Filter on Workspace and Library by document type
You can now select the type (template used) to filter the documents shown on the Workspace and Library.
The filters are additive so if two or more are selected then any matching one type will be shown. As with filtering by tags, the list of types shown will include all types.
Resource Library: Map Custom Fields via Integrations and Imports
Resource Library: Map Custom Fields via Integrations and Imports
When adding data to your Resource Library types, you can now map custom fields using the self-service connections and imports.
Availability: Resource Library features are available based on your Qualio plan. Contact your CSM with any questions.
Design Controls Categories
Design Controls Categories
Organize and categorize your design control elements with greater granularity.
Solution: Implement sub-categories on Requirements and Risks for design controls, enabling better organization, filtering, and collaboration within your design control processes. These categories are managed from within Resource Library.
Categories can be set at different levels and should reflect your needs but here are a few examples.
Requirements: Safety, Labelling, Compliance …
Design Inputs: Functional Spec, Architecture Spec …
Design outputs: Design Spec, UI/UX design, Code item …
Risk: Safety, Cyber Security, Operational …
Design Controls Components
Design Controls Components
Add components to your design control requirements for better context and organization.
Solution: Group design elements under components to model your product architecture within your requirements, providing valuable context and improving clarity. These components are managed from within Resource Library.
Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-Factor Authentication
Increased security when logging in with email and password.
Solution: Qualio customers that use email and password to log in can now increase the security of the important data they store in Qualio by prompting their users to log in using a code sent to their work email account. This multi-factor authentication is enabled from the admin settings.
Users will receive a code and need to enter it within a time-limited window in order to gain access to Qualio. This will happen every 30 days, or when they access using a new device or browser.
Please note: Qualio customers using SSO can enable their own multi-factor authentication, this new offering is for customers who do not use a third party SSO solution, e.g. Google, Okta, Microsoft.
Resource Library: Exports
Resource Library: Exports
Easily export all your Resource Library items to Excel or PDF for streamlined record keeping. PDF exports include both simple category lists and individual item details.
Use the Excel export to include all the data from custom fields across an entire resource category. Pair exports with custom fields and enhanced imports to simplify batch updates and maintain data accuracy.
Smartlinking Templates and Training Plans
Smartlinking Templates and Training Plans
Add smartlinks to the latest version of your document templates, event templates, and training plans wherever smartlinking is available.
Smartlink search now includes templates and training plans, matching based on template names, and training plan names and codes.
